The Indian Revenue Officers Shooting Club (IROSC) has been constituted by the officers of the Central Revenues department working under the Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC) and the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT). The IROSC is duly registered with the Registrar of Societies and is also directly affiliated to the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI).
The IROSC has been set up with a vision to inculcate and promote shooting sport not only amongst the departmental officers/staff and their families but also amongst the general public as well. With this vision in mind the IROSC has successfully conducted the following tournament
The tournament generated a great response from shooters all over India and more than 450 shooters participated enthusiastically in the two day event in various disciplines of shooting sports. Top Indian shooters viz. Shahzar Rizvi, Deepak Kumar, Ravi Kumar, Shweta Chaudhary, Hema KC etc. also participated in the tournament thereby making it all the more exciting.
This tournament saw the participation of nearly 200 shooters from all over India.
This year the shooters were divided into various age groups viz. 10-12, 12-15, 15-18, 18-21, 21-50, 50-60 and 60+ years so as to enable a wide range of shooters win medals in their respective age groups and events. This format resulted in a total of 170 individual events where medals to the top three shooters along with cash prize were given. This year nearly 700 shooters participated from all over India.
The tournament was a grand success as usual and 225 shooters, from Delhi/NCR, Patna, West Bengal, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Haryana and U.P. took part in it which was held exclusively on SIUS electronic targets.
The 5th Indian Revenue Open Shooting Championship, 2022-23, was organized at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Ranges, Tughlakabad, New Delhi, from 11th to 13th of March, 2023.
The tournament saw participation of 387 shooters from all over India including departmental officers.
The tournament was conducted in 10m, 25m and 50m Small bore and Air Rifle / Pistol events.
